Unusual items of expenditure in the year ending 31 March 2008 were an expensive repair to the embosser, and the purchase of an upgrade to transcription software. Without these, expenditure would have almost exactly balanced income.

Some savings were made on the card used to bind A4 volumes.

Total braille pages produced were : (2006) 21,127 (2007) 20,860. This shows a drop of 2% over the year and is 4% less than our peak in 2005. We now average about a hundred pages per week per transcriber.
