The Voluntary Transcribers' Group

During the 12 months ending 31 March 2008 we produced nearly 21,000 pages of finished Braille. We have kept up this level of production for at least five years, but there are now faint signs of a reduced demand. We continued to give a quick service for deadline-critical and study material.

Examples of our output during the year are:  4 bi-monthly newsletters; a crossword puzzle book; four books on anorexia; two on racehorses; one on the Playboy mansion and one on Everton FC match programmes; a travel guide to New York; a bi-lingual opera libretto; several law reports; school and university textbooks (lots of diagrams!); recipe books; a dozen novels including three huge Stephen Kings; and a beautiful book of verses by a blind schoolboy which is now available in Braille from bookshops.
